Traffic ignored
Just behind Crabtree Valley Mall are two sites prime for developing. The first is well under way and slated for 384 apartments sandwiched between Blue Ridge Road and the Beltline. The second is the 24-acre site of the old restaurant on top of the hill, with developers seeking approval for 525 apartments, a hotel and retail shops.
Nowhere does there seem to be a plan to address the roughly 2,000 or more cars that will use Blue Ridge and, to a lesser degree, Edwards Mill Road. If you think traffic around Crabtree is bad, just wait. What are our elected officials thinking?
