Investigators say Raleigh house fire was arson

— Fire investigators said a fire that gutted a single-story house on Haywood Street early Tuesday was set.

The fire at 314 Haywood St., between East Martin and East Davie streets, was reported about 12:30 a.m., fire Lt. Adam Stanley said.

No injuries were reported in the fire, which Stanley said damaged most of the house.

The first firefighters on the scene could see flames through windows, he said.
