— Cumberland County sheriff’s detectives are looking for a thief who broke into a youth training center and stole thousands of dollars worth of equipment – then left a note apologizing for the damage.

Detectives say someone broke into 360 Elite Baseball Academy on Gillespie Street during the late evening hours last Wednesday. One or more thieves took numerous television sets, a computer, baseball uniforms, batting gloves and titanium sports team necklaces.

Detectives found a note that read: “Sorry about the mess and the drywall damage. I think what you are doing here is a good thing.”

The note was unsigned.

Investigators ask anyone who has information that may be useful in the case to call the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office at 910-323-1500.
