KINGS MOUNTAIN, N.C. A high-speed chase ended in a crash Tuesday afternoon on Interstate 85 near Kings Mountain.
A pursuit began about 3:45 p.m near Blacksburg, S.C., authorities said, and the fleeing driver drove onto I-85 northbound in North Carolina before crashing near exit 10A. Troopers said they initially tried to pull over a motorist who was driving erratically, but he refused to stop.
Speeds reached 100 mph during the chase.
It was not clear if anyone was hurt and a suspect was apprehended, officials said. Drivers should expect delays in the area through rush hour.
