Spending sense
I appreciate the compassion in your Jan. 10 editorial “Jabbing the jobless” regarding unemployment insurance. The part about that insurance and its payments helping the economy has an unfortunate logic error.
Taken to its conclusion, it would say that if everyone were unemployed and receiving benefits, the economy would really be humming. I think diminishing returns would soon catch up. I know that others have already said this so I am surprised that you still make this argument.
