RALEIGH — The St. Augustine’s Falcons swooped into Spaulding Gymnasium and beat the Shaw Bears on their home floor 75-63 Saturday afternoon.
The Falcons (13-6 overall, 6-3 CIAA, 3-0 Southern Division) have now won four straight games. The Falcons shot a blistering 61.9 percent, including 72.2 percent in the second half.
Center Jonathan Crawley led the Falcons both in scoring and rebounding for the second game in a row. He tallied 16 points and eight rebounds.
Guard Tyquan Stroman added 14 points and six rebounds while forward Chris Johnson tacked on 12 points and eight rebounds for the Falcons.
For Shaw (12-7 overall, 6-3 CIAA, 0-3 Southern Division), Andre Paulk tallied 14 points and 8 rebounds. Karron Johnson and Curtis Hines each chipped in with 10 points.
The rematch is slated for 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16 at St. Augustine’s.
