Published: January 27, 2013

Grey Meyer of Durham has earned the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest achievement in Boy Scouting.

For his Eagle project, Grey helped reopen a segment of a walking trail at Occoneechee Mountain State Natural Area in Hillsborough by building steps along a washed-out pathway.

Grey, the son of David and Yoalder Meyer, is a junior at Jordan High School in Durham and a member of Crew 420, sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
