Millbrook High School sophomore Joseph Kyle Williamson attended the presidential inauguration last week as part of his participation in the National Young Leaders Program.
The five-day High School Presidential Inaugural Conference in Washington focused on the history behind the electoral process and the traditions surrounding the inauguration.
Joseph and other conference participants heard keynote speakers including former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Gen. Wesley Clark, former NATO Supreme Allied Commander.
For the inauguration itself, the students viewed the ceremony from the National Mall, attended a viewing party and luncheon during the parade and celebrated at a Gala Inaugural Celebration just for them.
