RALEIGH — Two suspects have been charged in a hit-and-run that injured a pedestrian crossing Raleigh Boulevard early Monday, police said.
The incident happened about 1:15 a.m. near the intersection of Raleigh Boulevard and Milburnie Road, police said. Listen to the 911 call here.
Yvonne McDade, 22, of 357 Marble Street is charged with felony hit and run, driving while license revoked and resisting or obstructing a law enforcement officer.
Delores Ann Watts, 49, is charged with permitting an unlicensed driver to operate her vehicle.
Watts owns the 2011 Chevrolet Impala that McDade was driving when Ray Anthony Hemingway, 50, was struck, according to a police release.
The vehicle was located on Lion Street earlier today after an officer was flagged down by the resident who knew the car didnt belong where it was.
Emergency workers rushed Hemingway to WakeMed in Raleigh. The extent of his injuries was not immediately known.
