Nick Ellis: Unneeded weapons

Unneeded weapons

I’m generally conservative and support most Republican positions, but I try to objectively recognize there are two sides to most political issues. Immigration, taxes, election finance and the death penalty: I have my point of view, but understand the other side has valid points.

But as to the assault weapon ban, I can’t for the life of me understand why any rational thinking person would oppose this. It won’t ban all guns, just the ones that can inflict incredible and horrific damage on innocent victims.

Nobody’s life will be materially prejudiced if he can’t own a semi-automatic assault weapon. I encourage our representatives to support this legislation.
