Richard O'Neil Gamble

Richard O'Neil Gamble, 81, passed away suddenly at his home on January 28, 2013. Richard was born on January 6, 1932 in Guilford County to the late Charles Bascom Gamble and May Ladd Gamble. He was a 1955 graduate of the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill with a Masters of Law and has practiced in Raleigh for 56 years.

Funeral Service: 3:00 pm, Friday, February 1, 2013 at Baptist Tabernacle Church, 1599 NC Hwy 231, Wendell, NC 27591 with Reverend Glen Brock officiating.

The family will receive relatives and friend from 1:30 to 3:00 pm prior to the service in the church family ministry center and other times at the home of Susan and Ricky Andrews, 246 Dogwood Trail, Wendell, NC 27591.

Entombment: Baptist Tabernacle Church Cemetery.

Surviving: step-daughters, Susan W. Andrews and husband, Ricky of Wendell, Denise W. Warren and husband, Michael of Nashville, TN; sons, Neil Gamble and wife, Nadine of Ohio, Scott Gamble and wife, Noemi of California; daughter, Leigh G. Blanton and husband, Brad of Charlotte; grandchildren, Paige Richardson (Jerry) Chris Andrews, Madeleine Warren, Ian and Kelby Gamble, Zachary and Charlie Gamble, Sarah Blanton, great-grandchild, Claire Richardson, Close Friend and secretary, Gloria Parrish.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Fowler Gamble in 2010, a brother, C.B. and sister, Vora May.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Baptist Tabernacle Church Food Ministry.
