Double standard
Does anyone else find it a bit hypocritical for officers of the court like Attorney General Roy Cooper and Wake County District Attorney Colon Willoughby (“Prosecutors target fraud and corruption,” Jan. 25) to argue out of one side of their mouths in court that it is OK for a police officer to lie to a suspect to trick him into a confession and then argue out of the other side of their mouths that the legislature should make it a crime for a citizen to lie to a police officer? You just can’t make this stuff up.
