Still consumers

Today’s Democrats in North Carolina and Washington must overcome the Republican-made myth that government aid to the unemployed is a hand-out. The original idea was that although out-of-workers are not producing anything, they still have an important economic role to play. They must consume!

Only if they are able to can products be sold, jobs created and profits made. The same idea applies to Social Security, food stamps and a host of other progressive programs.

So, come on, Democrats: Get your media-bytes in order!
