Central goes for defensive linemen

N.C. Central coach Henry Frazier III focused on recruiting defensive linemen and wide receivers.

The Eagles signed 13 players on Wednesday, including seven defensive linemen and four wide receivers.

“We are definitely pleased with this class,” Frazier said. “It’s a small class in numbers, but that’s just an indication of us signing two large classes in our first two classes. We were able to keep those kids in school and have a program in place where we are now able to add pieces as we see fit.”

Frazier said the Central coaches were able to concentrate on specific players.

“They all knew what we needed,” Frazier said. “We were able address our immediate needs.”

Three of the players, including Fuquay-Varina’s Jon MacBride, are from North Carolina.

The class includes 10 high school seniors and three transfers.
