Monday evening at Duke University in Durham, the Screen/Societys Ethics Film Series is screening Jean-Pierre Dardenne and Luc Dardennes 2002 mystery The Son (French title: Le Fils), starring Olivier Gourmet, Morgan Marinne, and Isabella Soupart, at 7 the Bryan Center Griffith Film Theater. A panel discussion will follow the screening.
At the same venue at 7 on Tuesday night, the Screen/Societys Middle East Film Series presents Asghar Farhadis 2011 drama A Separation, starring Payman Maadi, Leila Hatami, and Sareh Bayat, which was the first Iranian film to win the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film. The film will be introduced by Zahra Asgari, president of GSAID (Graduate Student Association of Iranians at Duke). All the Screen/Societys screenings are free.
