Bickering boards
It’s déjà vu all over again. After two years of partisan bickering between factions on the school board, we now have the majority-Republican Board of Commissioners attempting a blatant power grab from the Democratic- controlled Board of Education.
The Wake County commissioners ought to do what they were elected to do: Support and allow the Board of Education to carry out its charge, which is to ensure high-quality public schools that enable each student to reach his or her potential.
Our children will pay the price for these partisan politics, and the quality of public education in Wake County will be no better off. Commissioners should behave themselves.
