Cary High School’s Art Club hosted an art exhibit featuring the work of fall semester art students and presented awards for the best of the bunch.

At the entry level, the Superior Award was given to Lauren Blackwell for “Surreal Interior.” Honorable mentions went to Rayeh Sommer for “Value Mountains” and Chloe Scattergood for her self-portrait.

At the intermediate level, the Superior Award went to Emily Beazlie for “Owl Scratchboard.” Honorable mentions were awarded to Kishan Rana for his “Factory” collage and Christine Kerr for her “5 Hands, 1 Word” painting.

The upper level Superior Award went to Erica Holmsen for her collection of work for her AP class. Erica also won the Best in Show award. Honorable mentions were awarded to Nisa Woodley Foster and Jeramiah Isaac for their watercolor designs.

The exhibit was displayed at Cary High School in December and featured more than 200 pieces by students in classes taught by Jennifer French and Susan Silver. A panel of judges selected by the teachers selected the award winners.
