Ridiculous Red Route

Regarding the Jan. 31 article “Red Route ban for N.C. 540 revisited”: The Red Route is obviously the worst route for Garner. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the DOT officials should get out of their offices and see the amount of economic destruction this would cause. It will go through 13 subdivisions, the award-winning White Deer Park and the Greenfield Industrial Park.

Common sense should tell the DOT and Corps of Engineers this will destroy Garner’s economic development and that an alternative route is necessary. But common sense appears to be lacking.
