RALEIGH — N.C. State University police have charged an 18-year-old Scotland County resident and are looking for two other men who they believe were involved in a gunpoint robbery of a student on Dan Allen Drive late Monday.
Devonta Monroe was arrested in Scotland County on Tuesday on a warrant in which NCSU police charged him with armed robbery, police said.
The student, a man, was walking on Dan Allen near Fraternity Court at about 11:30 p.m. Monday when a small car stopped and a man got out, police said they were told.
The man pointed a silver handgun and demanded the student’s personal possessions, a crime alert posted for the campus said.
After the man returned to the car, which held two other men, it went to Western Boulevard and turned east.
Police said the car, which was blue or purple, may carry South Carolina registration HQU-804.
