Raleigh man faces 28 counts of taking indecent liberties with 5-year-olds

— Police arrested a 27-year-old Raleigh man Thursday on a total of 28 counts of taking indecent liberties with a child involving two 5-year-old girls.

Michael Vincent Bell of 511 Shelly Ridge Lane was arrested following questioning at the police department’s Downtown District station on West Cabarrus Street, according to an arrest report.

A series of arrest warrants accuse Bell of taking indecent liberties 15 times with one girl and 13 times with the other.

The warrants charge that the incidents happened between Feb. 11, 2012, and Monday.

Police spokesman Jim Sughrue said the girls and their family knew Bell.

Bell was being held on $1 million bond pending a court appearance.
