Marc Trasolini tallied 17 points and 10 rebounds as the Santa Clara Broncos dismissed the San Diego Toreros, 61-52, in a West Coast Conference tilt at the Leavey Center.
Trasolini shot 7-of-12 from the field en route to his seventh double-double of the season for Santa Clara (18-8, 6-5 WCC), which snapped a two-game losing skid. Brandon Clark chipped in 11 points off the bench for the hosts.
For San Diego (13-14, 6-6), Ken Rancifer netted 17 points, Johnny Dee had 15 points and eight rebounds, and John Sinis added 13 points.
Both teams were ice-cold in the first half, with neither squad shooting greater than 30 percent from the field. San Diego managed to take a 25-23 lead into intermission by going 4-of-10 from 3-point range.
Santa Clara still trailed with under 10 minutes to play in the game, but it ripped off a 15-6 run to take a 52-44 advantage at the 4:47 mark and was able to cruise to victory from there.
The Broncos outrebounded the Toreros, 41-37, and won the turnover battle, 16-10.
