A Bunker mentality

Last night while watching reruns of “All in the Family” I was reminded of the similarity between Archie Bunker’s mindset and the mentality, political philosophy and focus of some legislators currently in Raleigh. Although the fictional Bunker hailed from Queens, his living counterparts are wreaking havoc upon the citizenry of North Carolina through their disingenuous, narrow-minded, short-sighted and mean-spirited approach toward the uninsured and unemployed.

When the next Hurricane Floyd strikes our state, will FEMA aid be rejected because FEMA – like North Carolina’s Medicaid program – is “broken?”
