Miss Lauren Content Anderson and Mr. Alexander Christopher Bean were married on Saturday, the sixteenth of February, at six o’clock in the evening. The Reverend George William Climer, junior officiated the ceremony at Tuckahoe Presbyterian Church in Richmond, Virginia. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Commonwealth Club.

The bride is the daughter of Dr. Theodore Starbuck Anderson and the late Sara Fowler Anderson of Asheboro. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. James Fitzgerald Fowler and the late Mr. Fowler of Salisbury, and the late Mrs. Caroline Hardee Anderson and Mr. Theodore Starbuck Anderson of Fernandina Beach, Florida. Lauren is a graduate of Asheboro High School and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In May she will receive her Master of Accounting degree from Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

The groom is the son of Judge and Mrs. Charles Christopher Bean of Edenton. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Erwin Adams of Laurinburg and the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Columbus Bean of Burlington. Alex is a graduate of John A. Holmes High School and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is a Vice President with Plexus Capital in Raleigh.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore her mother’s silk organza and Alencon lace wedding dress and veil. The bride’s sister, Megan Anderson Phillips, of Charlotte, served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Frances Brooks Adams, Virginia Hunter Compo, Rachel Wooten Matthews, Julia Boyette Monroe, Whitney Collins Otto, Caroline Elaine Homes Pappas, Elizabeth Franklin Sizemore, Louise Wornall Stafford, Kelly Styron Torstrick, and Brigitte Haden Wiley.

The groom’s father served as best man. Groomsmen included Charles Stewart Taylor Bean, brother of the groom, Matthew Garland Anderson, III, Charles Van Dyke Archie, Charles Thomas Hodges, junior, Joseph Andrew Hollmeyer, Robert Nicholas Longo, William Hatcher Overton, junior, Wallace Fredrick Palmer, III, Patrick Lee Sellers, Charles Clement Teden, and David Jordan Whichard, IV.

Theodore DuBose Bratton, junior, Scott Geoffrey Hauser, William Fowler Stafford, and James Blanchard Stafford served as ushers. Damian Anthony Cannon and William Rufus Yates, junior read scripture during the service. Program attendants were Savannah Leigh Anderson, Eugenia Kress Fowler, and Laura Dough Roberts.

The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner and party at the Country Club of Virginia on the eve of the wedding. A bridesmaids luncheon was hosted on Friday by Mrs. Lynn Fowler and Mrs. Megan Phillips at the Commonwealth Club.

Following a honeymoon trip to the British Virgin Islands, the couple will reside in Raleigh.
