RALEIGH — An accident on westbound Interstate 40 hurt no one about 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, but it shut down two of the roads four lanes and backed up commuter traffic.
Police were working to get all lanes open after a state Department of Transportation Interstate Motorist Assistance Patrol truck was able to push one damaged vehicle to the shoulder of the highway.
The accident happened near the South Saunders Street overpass.
