Northern will have be an absentee host for tonight's semifinals in the PAC-6 Conference's girls' basketball tournament.
Fifth-seeded Riverside, which had twice lost to Northern by a basket or less in the regular season, upset the No. 4 seeds from Northern 40-37 Tuesday night at the Ladies' home court.
In tonight's semifinals at Northern Durham's Poe Gym, Riverside (11-14) will face No. 1 seed Southern (17-5) at 6 p.m. No. 3-seeded Jordan (14-9) will play second-seeded Hillside (20-4) at 7:30 p.m.
Northern also will host Friday's finals, with the girls playing at 6 p.m. and the boys to follow at 8 p.m.
The PAC-6 boys' semifinals will be Thursday at Northern.
No. 1-seeded Jordan (19-4), which has yet to lose to a conference opponent this year, will play No. 6 seed Riverside (10-15) in the boys' first semi at 6 p.m. Thursday. The hosts from Northern (12-9) will play No. 2-seeded Hillside (16-6) at 7:30 p.m. in Poe Gym.
