DMV criticism wrong
While watching Gov. Pat McCrory’s State of the State address, I was disappointed to hear his criticism of the N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles.
I have always received fast, high-quality service from friendly DMV employees and find their Web services easy to use. While I’m sorry the governor recently had to wait in line at the DMV, his comments seem like a cheap shot at a department that does its best to meet its customers’ needs.
I urge McCrory to focus his efforts on one of many substantial problems omitted from his speech, including the fact that a quarter of the children of our state live in poverty. If we want to solve the significant problems facing North Carolina, we need our governor to stop worrying about wait times at the DMV and to start thinking big.
