Dennis Tinnon recorded a double-double off the bench with 14 points and 15 rebounds as the Marshall Thundering Herd captured its first road win of the season against the UCF Knights, 82-70, in Conference USA action at UCF Arena.
Elijah Pittman scored a team-high 20 points to go along with five boards and five assist for the Thundering Herd (12-15, 5-7 C-USA). DeAndre Kane contributed 19 points, seven assists and five rebounds. D.D. Scarver added 16 points as Marshal has won for the second time in three games.
For the Knights (17-9, 7-5), Isaiah Sykes recorded a double-double with a game-high 23 points and 11 rebounds. Calvin Newell added 16 points and Keith Clanton chipped in 10 points as UCF lost for a third time in a row.
UCF made 13-of-31 field goals in the first half. Marshall knocked down 21- of-35 from the floor, en route to a 48-34 advantage at the break.
In the second half, Marshall was 11-of-24 from the floor. UCF made 15-of-34 field goals to take a 36-34 advantage in the half.
UCF was held to 3-of-16 beyond the arc as Marshall made 32-of-59 from the floor on the night.
