For the 150th anniversary of the singing of the Emancipation Proclamation, the N.C. Symphony plays themed concerts Friday and Saturday night in Raleigh’s Meymandi Concert Hall. The centerpiece is Aaron Copland’s “Lincoln Portrait,” with narrator David Hartman and James Westwater’s projected Civil War and Civil Rights Movement images.
