Mr. Ernest Edward Johnson, 89 of 223 Sherron Road, died on Tuesday, February 19, 2013.

Mr. Johnson was born in Harnett County, the son of the late Claude E. Johnson and Susie Jane Johnson. He was a Sergeant in the U. S. Army and a WWII Veteran. He received a campaign medal with three Bronze stars, Good Conduct Medal, Purple Heart and a Victory Medal. He was a self-employed pipefitter. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Aline Gardner Johnson, brothers, Simon, Halford, Alex, Henry, Gene, Louis and Lee Johnson; sisters, Siddia Holland, Lydia Johnson and Martha Holland.

He is survived by his brother, Sherwood Johnson and wife, Lillian and special friends, Herbert and Faye Evans.

Graveside services will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Brier Creek Memorial Gardens, officiated Rev. Hugh O'Shields.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home.
