Mae Lahoma Poe West, age 85 passed away Thursday February 21, 2013 in Durham, NC.
She was born in Chilhowie, VA to the late Charles & Vita Poe and was preceded in death by her husband Fitzhugh West. She attended the Northside Christian Church in Durham, NC.
Survivors include: one daughter and son-in-law, Judy East and husband Larry, Durham, NC; three brothers, Gerald Poe, Johnson City, TN, Dean Poe, Clarksville, TN, Carl “Bud” Poe, Chilhowie, VA; four sisters, Magdeline Elledge, Marion, VA, Maxine Martin, Chilhowie, VA, Linda Butler, Flint, TX, Anna Jean Smith, Story, AR; three grandchildren, Travis Hardin, Bristol, TN, Carla Garcia, Morrisville, NC, Brett East, Durham, NC; six great-grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, February 24, 2013 at the West Cemetery in Marion with Pastor Larry East officiating.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at their home at 607 Braden Drive, Durham, NC and Sunday from 2:30-3:30 p.m. at the Bradley’s Funeral Home in Marion.
