ZEBULON — A 25-year-old town resident was being held on $1 million bond Friday at the Wake County Detention Center on charges of first-degree rape of a child and first-degree sexual offense with a child.

Zebulon police specified the highest-level charges against Marcus Wright of 141 W. Barbee St. on the grounds that the victim was under 13 years old and that the case met other standards set in state law, arrest warrants said.

The warrants said the incident occurred last July 9.
