Paul Jacob Hughes of Raleigh has earned the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest achievement in Boy Scouting.
For his project, Paul led a group of Scouts and adult leaders in the design and construction of an eight-foot wooden cross and four wooden benches on a nature path at his church, the Church of the Nativity in Raleigh.
Paul, son of Annette and Ed Hughes, is a senior at Leesville Road High School and a member of Troop 399 at Soapstone United Methodist Church.
