Vernon Fuller Mitchell, Jr., 79, of Rolesville, passed away Wednesday evening, February 20, 2013.

Born May 16, 1933 in Rolesville, NC, he was the son of the late Vernon Fuller Mitchell, Sr. and Zetta Davis Mitchell. Vernon was a graduate of Wake Forest University and he served in the armed forces as a 2nd Lieutenant/chemical weapons officer.

Vernon is survived by his son, Vernon Fuller Mitchell, III and his wife Emily; a daughter, Kim Mitchell Jeffries; grandchildren, Anna, Robert, and Thomas Jeffries.

A private burial will be held at a later date.
