Edna Marie Higgins Upchurch, 95, of Batesburg-Leesville, SC and formerly of Smithfield, NC entered into eternal rest on Friday, February 15, 2013 .

A visitation for family and friends was held at Parks Funeral Home in Summerville, SC on February 19, 2013. It was followed by a graveside service at Summerville Cemetery.

Edna was born January 7, 1918 in Johnston Co, a daughter of Herman Edwin and Irene Eliza Blackman Higgins.

Edna loved her family and friends, painting and playing cards. She was a retired secretary. She will be fondly remembered for her larger-than-life personality.

Survivors include her two sisters, Joyce W Thompson of Smithfield and Shirley W Warren of Lakeland, FL; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces. Edna was predeceased by her two daughters, Sandra Fuller and Barbara Morello.
