Recap: Purdue vs. Northwestern

Terone Johnson scored 22 points as the Purdue Boilermakers rolled over the Northwestern Wildcats, 74-43, in a Big Ten clash at Mackey Arena.

D.J. Byrd added 13 points and Ronnie Johnson and Rapheal Davis each totaled 10 points for Purdue (13-14, 6-8 Big Ten) which ended a three-game losing streak.

Tre Demps scored nine points as the lead scorer for Northwestern (13-15, 4-11) which has lost five straight.

In the first half Purdue shot 53.8 percent from the field and knocked down 5-of-6 from beyond the arc. With Northwestern making good on just 28.6 percent from the floor, the Boilermakers went into the break leading, 40-25.

The second half was a carbon copy of the first as the Boilermakers again shot above 50 percent from the floor while the Wildcats again shot 28.6 percent.

Purdue dominated on the interior with a 48-23 edge in rebounds and a 36-14 advantage on points in the paint.
