Lillie Maude Evans Peedin

Lillie Maude Evans Peedin, age 95, of Bizzell Grove Church Road near Princeton died on Saturday, February 23, 2013. Born in Johnston County on August 24, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Young and Florence Alice Pilkington Evans. Mrs. Peedin was preceded in death by her husband, Merlin Peedin; daughter, Barbara Nell Peedin; and son, Danny Ray Peedin. She was a member of Hephzibah Baptist Church where she sang in the choir for many years. She also sang with the Community Gospel Singers. Mrs. Peedin was a hard-working farmer’s wife and also worked in the cafeteria at Princeton School for fourteen years.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma with burial following in the cemetery at Hephzibah Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 PM.

Surviving are sons, M. A. Peedin, Jr. and wife Carolyn of Myrtle Beach, SC, C. Keith Peedin and wife Lois of Four Oaks; daughters, Kathy Peedin Gurley of Clayton and Linda Grey Peedin of Princeton; brother, David Earl Evans of Princeton; grandchildren, Merle Peedin, Misti Peedin, Micah Peedin, Sherry Davis, Ryan Peedin and Lance Peedin; and ten great grandchildren.
