John Thomas Powell, 80, of Spring Lake, passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2013.

John was born September 19, 1932, in Wilson County, to the late Wyatt Henry Powell and Kate Deliah Bedford Powell.

He is survived by two sons, Jonathan E. Powell, of Goldston, and Wyatt Thomas Powell, of Fayetteville; a sister, Connie M. McAllastar, of Fayetteville; two brothers, Silas G. Powell, of Fayetteville, and Ernie L. Powell, of Silver Springs, MD; and a granddaughter, Alexis Powell, of Fayetteville.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 2:45pm, Tuesday, February 26, 2013, at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 3:00pm at Rogers and Breece Chapel with the Reverend Carl Averitte and Richard Yarborough officiating. Interment will proceed at Lafayette Memorial Park..
