GARNER — A Garner High School student faces charges of assault with a deadly weapon and having a gun at a school after a Sunday altercation in which a bullet was fired from a handgun at Aversboro Elementary School, police said.
Police said no one was hurt in the incident that happened about 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
Just before 8 a.m. Monday, they arrested Jalyn Keylon Marshall, 18, at his home at 1611 S. Wade Ave. and found the semiautomatic handgun, Lt. Wayne Moore said.
An arrest warrant charged Marshall with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and having a gun on educational property.
His bail was set at $125,000 for the two charges pending a court appearance Tuesday.
