Juicy baked shrimp -- with a side of Love Apple.

Baked Shrimp with a Love Apple side dish is a 15-minute dinner that’s perfect for any day. The cooking method leaves the shrimp juicy, firm and flavorful.

Love apple, La Pomme D’Amour, is the name given to the tomato by the French in the 16th century.

This meal contains 594 calories per serving with 21 percent of calories from fat.

Helpful hints

• Any type of small pasta or leftover pasta pieces can be used.

• Grated Parmesan cheese is used in both recipes. If grating your own, prepare amounts for both at one time.

• Heat oven to 350 degrees.

• Place water for pasta on to boil.

• Make shrimp.

• While shrimp bakes, make pasta.

Baked Shrimp

Love Apple Orzo

Baked Shrimp 3/4 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined 1/4 cup plain bread crumbs Salt and freshly ground pepper 1 teaspoon olive oil 1/4 cup dry white wine 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

HEAT oven to 350 degrees. Place shrimp in a small baking dish just large enough to hold them in one layer. Sprinkle with bread crumbs and salt and pepper to taste. Toss to make sure shrimp are coated with bread crumbs. Drizzle olive oil over shrimp. Pour wine into baking dish and bake for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and turn on broiler. Sprinkle top with Parmesan cheese and place under broiler for 15 seconds to brown the cheese and bread crumbs. Watch them carefully as they will brown quickly. Yield:

PER SERVING: 300 calories (22 percent from fat), 7.3 g fat (1.9 g saturated, 2.6 g monounsaturated), 262 mg cholesterol, 38.2 g protein, 12.2 g carbohydrates, 0.6 g fiber, 428 mg sodium.

Love Apple Orzo 1/2 cup orzo (rice-shaped pasta) 2 ripe tomatoes cut into cubes (about 2 cups) 1/4 cup fresh basil 2 teaspoons olive oil Salt and freshly ground pepper 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese

PLACE a medium-size saucepan full of water on to boil. Add orzo and boil 9 to 10 minutes. Drain and add tomatoes, basil and olive oil. Add salt and pepper to taste. Toss well. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Yield:
