Margaret Whitley Williams

Margaret Whitley Williams, 93, of Richmond, VA, and formerly of Smithfield, NC passed away on Monday, February 25, 2013.

She was the daughter of the late Paul E. and Mattie Whitley, of Smithfield, NC. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, W. Albert Williams and sister, Mattie Lee Murray, also of Smithfield.

She is survived by a son, Edwin Williams, of Surf City, and dear friend, Sylvia Thornton, of Clinton; a daughter Ann Worley, and her husband Bruce Worley, of Jacksonville, FL; a daughter Sondra Adams, and her husband Robert Adams, of Powhatan, VA; grandsons Paul Williams, of Pine Level, Alan Worley, of Jacksonville, FL, and Rob Adams, of Richmond, VA; granddaughters Jennifer Crawford, of Jacksonville, FL, and Lisa Nida, of Midlothian, VA; great grandchildren Megan Worley, Madison Worley, Braxton Worley, Ashlyn Crawford, and Caitlyn Crawford of Jacksonville, FL, and Daniel Nida of Midlothian, VA. She is also survived by sisters Frances Barker, of Wilmington, and Dorothy Oldenburg of Bonita Springs, FL, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was a lifelong member of Pisgah Baptist Church in Smithfield, where she served in many positions through the years from working with children in Vacation Bible School and Sunbeams (Mission Friends) to teaching Adult Sunday School and working with the Women’s Missionary Union. She always had a heart for Missions and loved everyone she met. Her greatest joy was serving her Lord, family, and friends in whatever ways she could.

The family will receive friends Friday, March 1st from 1 to 1:45 p.m. in the sanctuary of Pisgah Baptist Church, 3689 NC HWY 210, Smithfield. The funeral will follow at 2 p.m. Flowers may be sent to the church.
