Mrs. Margie Bennett Stanley, 83, of Lillington died Monday, February 25, 2013. She was born in Harnett County, the daughter of the late W.C. and Lula Smith Bennett. Margie was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Melvin Stanley; two brothers, Alton Bennett and David Bennett; two sisters, Isabelle Tucker and Eunice Autry. She was an active member of Ephesus Presbyterian Church where she served as an Elder and Sunday school teacher. Margie enjoyed reading, sewing, quilting and her flowers.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 28, 2013 O’Quinn-Peebles Chapel in Lillington with Rev Bert Pitchford and Dr. Bill Goodnight officiating. Burial will follow in Westview Memorial Gardens in Lillington.

The family will receive friends at O’Quinn-Peebles, Wednesday, February 27, 2013 from 7:00-9:00 p.m.

She is survived by her son, Walter Stanley and wife, Liz of Knightdale; son, Buster Stanley and wife, Joann of Mercer, PA; daughter, Carolyn Cox and husband, James of Lillington; son, Ray Stanley of Lillington; daughter, Bonnie Stanley of Sanford; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sister, Dollie Mason of Broadway, NC.

Flowers are welcome however it was Margie’s request that we donate jars of peanut butter to her favorite charity, the Harnett Food Pantry. Collection baskets will be available at the funeral home. Monetary donations may also be made to the Harnett Food Pantry, PO Box 2084, Lillington, NC 27546.
