Payback for Medicaid

I thank Rep. Verla Insko for her Feb. 18 letter “Keeping Medicaid Funds in N.C.” I am incensed that the legislature is willing to reject the opportunity to provide access to affordable health care to so many deserving North Carolina residents.

The federal funds that are being so casually dismissed do not come from some alien planet. We the citizens and taxpayers put them there, and we deserve to get our share of those funds in North Carolina. If the legislature and Gov. Pat McCrory are determined to cut off their noses to spite their faces, they will have to live with the resulting disfigurement, which will render them most unattractive to citizens when they go to the polls.
