APEX — Two Wake County men accused of shooting and attempting to rob an Apex man now face murder charges after the man died of his wounds more than two months after the attack.
Christopher Calvin Rogers, 24, of 3516 Bakers Alley in Apex and Terrel Jamal Bankhead, 23, of 105 Braxberry Way in Holly Springs each were charged Wednesday with murder and conspiracy to commit murder against Dinomite Dwight Gooch.
The pair are charged also with attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and first-degree felony burglary. Rogers is charged also with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
The incident took place Dec. 17 at a home on Old Smithfield Road.
Gooch was taken to WakeMed hospital in Raleigh after the shooting and was reported to be in fair condition, according to the Wake County Sheriff’s Office.
Rogers and Bankhead are being held without bail.
