Yard spam

What does one have to do to get local organizations or businesses to stop throwing their literature in my front yard? This week I have already picked up a “free” local newspaper and a third-party telephone book, both of which were deposited in the trash.

This morning I can see a blue plastic bag adorning my driveway with a new offering. The two neighboring houses that are vacant have no fewer than four pieces of this kind of trash lying in the yard in varying states of decay.

This is like having spam thrown at you. Where can I buy a spam filter for my property?
