Rental vultures’

I applaud the Feb. 24 article “Wake home-buying spree” on the California billionaire who, with his American Homes 4 Rent company, is buying up homes around Wake County for rentals.

I once lived in a nice subdivision where this occurred. Property values started to decrease because of renters not maintaining the homes and following any covenants and restrictions. Try to sue a company 3,000 miles away! Homeowners may save for years to purchase a home in a nice neighborhood to raise a family. Having these vultures come in can and will kill the American dream!

Homebuyers looking to purchase a home for their families need to research the purchases in that neighborhood by this company before buying. Maybe a paid advertisement in this paper each month listing purchases and locations would be in order! Have we not learned anything these last few years!
