Recap: Davidson vs. Ga Southern

De'Mon Brooks tallied 20 points and seven rebounds, as the Davidson Wildcats routed the Georgia Southern Eagles at Belk Arena, 83-48, in the final regular-season Southern Conference game for both teams.

Brooks' frontcourt partner, Jake Cohen, added 15 points and six boards to help the SoCon regular-season champion Wildcats (23-7, 17-1 SoCon) avenge their only league loss of the season. Davidson has now won 14 in a row since falling to GSU on Jan. 14. Tyler Kalinoski added 12 points off the bench, and J.P. Kuhlman scored 10 in the victory.

C.J. Reed had 16 points and Tre Bussey scored 11 for the Eagles (13-18, 7-11).

The Wildcats led from wire to wire, as they jumped out to a 14-2 lead and never looked back. They went on to shoot an impressive 62.1 percent from the floor in the opening frame and built a sizeable, 45-19 halftime lead. Davidson enjoyed a 24-6 scoring edge inside the paint in the half.

The second half began with a 10-2 Davidson spurt, and the Wildcats maintained at least a 30-point cushion over the final 12 minutes.

The Wildcats held GSU to 29.8-percent shooting for the game, and they also won the rebounding battle, 37-26.
