Chuk Kung "CK" Lee, 83, died Monday, February 11, 2013. Born in Yantai, Shangdong Province, China, Mr. Lee was a successful businessman who owned and operated a number of restaurants in eastern North Carolina, including Peking Palace in Rocky Mount. In addition to his restaurant activities, Mr. Lee was an active member in the Chinese community and often introduced many local NC officials to visiting Chinese dignitaries to help build US-Chinese relationships and open business opportunities.
Mr. Lee was preceded in death by his wife, Sook Kwan "Mary" Leung Lee. Surviving Mr. Lee are his sister Gui Feng of London, England; his first wife Siu Wah Wong Lee of Gaithersburg, MD; daughter Maria of Bloomington, MN; daughter Christina of Lima, Peru; son Stephen of Gaithersburg, MD; daughter Mary of Rockville, MD; daughter Amy of Potomac, MD; daughter Lucia of Vienna, VA; son Patrick of Decatur, GA; 16 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
