Tony Spain Williams, 49, of Chapel Hill passed away at home Wednesday morning February 27th 2013 after a four year battle with cancer.

Born in Troy, NC, Tony was the son of Billy Spain Williams and Martha Ellison Williams. He was raised in Robbins, NC and graduated from North Moore High School in 1981. He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Tony began his career working for UPS in 1983. Tony married Elizabeth Gorman on June 10th, 1995. Their son Michael Steven Williams was born on September 22nd, 1998.

Tony and Libby own Brasswood Arabians, a horse stable where they and their riders have competed in local, regional and national horse shows.

Tony is survived by his wife Libby and son Michael of Chapel Hill; his parents Billy and Martha Williams of Robbins; sister Susan W. McNeill of Carthage; sister Kimberly Williams of Lumberton.

Visitation will be held at 12:30pm, followed by a Memorial service at 2:30pm Saturday March 9th at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 632 Laurel Hill Road, Chapel Hill, NC 27514. Interment will follow the services in the church memorial garden.
