Statistically speaking: Friends and family are a go-to source of unpaid help

A January Wells Fargo/Gallup Small Business Index poll suggests that many small business owners turn to friends or family for unpaid help when times are tough. Here’s what the survey found:

28% of small business owners turned to their spouses for free help

14% of small business owners turned to their children for free help

13% of small business owners got unpaid help from friends

6% of small business owners hired unpaid interns

30% of small business owners have no unpaid help
