Here, opportunity
I’d like to thank the writer of the March 2 letter “Don’t label kids.” We saw this in England when my family and I were there 1963-67 while I was in the Air Force.
Wrong! Wrong! Wrong! Children were given a test at age 11, the “Eleven Plus Exam” they called it. Some were put on the university track. The others were thrown into the vocational file.
I have a lifelong friend and classmate who did poorly in elementary school. Later he excelled in high school and college.
Opportunity is the American hallmark!
